The Harmony Classic Golf Outing

The Harmony Classic Golf Outing will be held on Monday, November 5, 2018, at the beautiful Heritage Golf course in Wake Forest NC.  All proceeds will go to support Barbershop Revival.

Why Barbershop Revival?

Did you know that Jazz greats Scott Joplin, Sydney Bechet, Jelly Roll Morton, W.C. Handy, The Mills Brothers and the great Louis Armstrong all sang in barbershop quartets when they were young?

In keeping with the BHS vision of radical diversity, the Carolinas District is hosting Barbershop Revival, a collegiate singing festival, to celebrate the African American roots of barbershop harmony.

What is Barbershop Revival?

Barbershop Revival will be a two-day singing and teaching workshop for college age students (18-24) to explore the origins of barbershop harmony in African-American culture.

Students from NCCU, St. Augustine University and Shaw University, along with other area schools, will participate.  They will work with top clinicians then perform on a Saturday evening concert to close the festival.
