Black Voices Matter

July 8, 2020 By Warren Fuson

Barbershop Revival actively promotes diversity and inclusion by reaching out to the African American musical community to celebrate the African American roots of barbershop harmony.  While we are reaching out initially to bridge the gap between black and white, this also includes all minorities. The joy of singing is for everyone, regardless of race, creed, nationality, sexual orientation, political leaning or any other differences.

Barbershop Revival is dedicated to the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS) Everyone in Harmony principle of radical inclusiveness.  The intent of Barbershop Revival is to put that inclusiveness into action, demonstrating that Barbershop is open to anyone who wants to sing.

As part of BHS, an organization that has been almost exclusively white since its foundation, it is imperative for us to reach out to those who are not, to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), to welcome them and all other minorities into our midst.

This is only a small step but it demonstrates our commitment to speak and act against discrimination in every form, whether against black people, indigenous people, trans people, gay people, women or any other group.  We are committed to Everyone In Harmony.
